A Message from Mr. Black
Thank you for your interest in Alabama Christian Elementary School. ACA was founded in 1942 by a small group of men who were committed to providing a Bible-based education for Montgomery's area youth. We continue striving to teach and set examples in a manner designed to build faith in God in our students through our daily Bible program and chapel gatherings.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT:
"To glorify God by providing a quality Christ-centered education which challenges students and teachers to maximize their potential so graduates are prepared to further their education while becoming productive Christian citizens."
We are proud of our students, staff, and parents. Throughout ACA's history, our students have consistently scored on the high side of the national average on the Stanford Achievement Test. Teachers are certified in the field in which they teach with over 60% holding advanced degrees. Our parents are actively involved in our Volunteers In Partnership (V.I.P.) program. Details about the V.I.P. can be found on our website. Our curriculum is based upon the Alabama State Department of Education's courses of study, but incorporates Christian principles emphasized by the ACA staff.
I'm personally excited about a number of initiatives here at ACA. Grades preK-5 have SMARTboards and ELMO document cameras. Our computer lab has a classroom set of wireless laptops for technology instruction. Grades 2-5 have access to our math lab which enhances and enriches our math curriculum by using computers and other math manipulatives. Grades 2-5 also has a Math Coach that visits with them on a weekly basis. Pre-kindergarten – 2nd grade has a reading resource teacher to strengthen students' reading skills. ACA employs a full-time nurse, counselor, music teacher, physical educator, art instructor, and computer technician for its elementary students. Free tutoring is offered after school to our elementary students when needed.
A goal that I place before my teachers is to foster a relationship with the student and family before you need the relationship.
Again, thank you for your interest in ACA's elementary school. Please feel free to call the school at anytime and ask for me, Doug Black, or our Director of Admissions, Harriet Parker, for information and a tour of our facilities.
Be Blessed,
Doug Black
